The 2013 Season has Begun!

First off, Jennifer and I had the nicest day to drive over to Greenville, SC. It was beautiful and sunny and just cool enough. It's about 3 hours, maybe a few minutes more.

We arrived a little before check-in time so we drove through historic downtown and found a new burger place called Marks Grill (I thought it was Grill Marks) that has only been open about 5 months. Pretty cool little place! In talking to the server we found out they have purchased several more locations and will be opening one in Atlanta. WOO HOO!

So, then we came to the hotel and got all checked in and moved in. We are just about a block from the historic district. It's nice and quiet here. After that we drove over to find the convention center where we will be working and to find a few other places we wanted to scope out, just to know where they are when we want to find them. We accidentally found the first place we were looking for... Fresh Market.

Fresh Market is an awesome little grocery store with bins of granola, nuts, chocolate covered raisins, etc. and coffee beans galore! You just scoop and buy as much or as little as you want or need. They have an awesome little meat market in there too. That stuff and the bakery stuff was beautiful! Makes me want a Fresh Market closer to home than an hour or 90 minutes away!

Then on to the convention center to check in and begin the task of setting up our booth. We have the strangest booth configuration! I'm not sure you can tell by the pictures.

Can you tell that we have across one end plus one booth space behind? REALLY strange and took us a good 90 minutes of double brain power, arranging and rearranging to figure out just what layout would work best!

This way? Angled book tables with an ordering table set up behind in the odd little space? NAH!

Two book tables end-to-end with an ordering table across the booth? NAH!

Two book tables in an L shape, ordering table in the small booth space up front? Yeah, we think we finally like it.

Oh, now we also find out BJU is directly across from us on one side, Abeka is across and up the same aisle, Rod and Staff is in that tiny booth behind our ordering and demo table.

Back to our booth, we can finally start unboxing books and such.

So, we finally got it all set up. We set up and tested projector, computer, etc. and will be ready to roll at opening time tomorrow afternoon!

If you happen to visit one of the conventions where Alpha Omega Publications has a booth, be sure to stop by and say hello!

Oh, Carrie! You'll be happy to know we didn't get lost (yet) and we didn't get stopped and asked if our rental car has head lights. ;)

More OKC

So, posting directly from my phone wasn't working like I wanted. Instead I emailed the photos to myself and now will attempt to post them here for you. :)

Never knew there was a way to buy the colors separate or that there were so many!

Really? I thought we would dump out the chips and just heat the bag.

As you can obviously see, I've not yet mastered pasting photos into the blog so they are aesthetically pleasing. Feel free to offer advice!
